The Board of Directors of Qatar Electricity and Water Company is pleased to
announce that the nomination for election of the Board of Directors is now open for
the election of six board members for the next three years. The Nomination period
will be open from 07:00 AM on Sunday 22/01/2023 until 02:30 PM of Thursday
26/01/2023.
Gentlemen who meet the conditions stipulated in Article (97) of the Commercial
Companies Law No. (11) of 2015 and those who are interested to be nominated, are
requested to attend the company’s head office during official working hours to
submit their nomination applications which must be attached with the following
documents as per the requirements by Qatar Financial Markets Authority:
1. A copy of the candidate identity card and passport.
2. A copy of official corporate documents in case of his capacity as a representative
of one of the corporate persons
3. A certificate of good conduct, or the candidate’s acknowledgment of its
submission.
4. Share ownership certificate issued by Central Depository Company (not less
than 2,200,000 shares).
5. Acknowledgment by the candidate of allocating shares for freezing as a security
on the date specified in Article (97) of the Commercial Companies Law.
6. The candidate’s acknowledgment not to hold board membership positions as
stipulated in Article (98) of the Commercial Companies Law.
7. An independent candidate is excluded from the conditions of owning shares
described in (4 and 5) above, provided that the independent candidate shall
comply with independency as per QFMA Corporate Governance Code.
